We woke up at around 5am as we prepared for our Canjet flight that was at 7:20am. It was quite an early morning and to our disappointment, the Tim Hortons shop in the airport was not opened yet. Last weekend I was fortunate to be able to get away from town and go on a 3-day retreat in Loon Lake, a UBC educational facility for the Forestry faculty, in the elevated mountains of Maple Ridge. It was a spiritual retreat with a theme that was focused on learning about “Creation Science” – a highly controversial yet very interesting and relevant topic.
There were lechon, palabok, bangus, chicken pot pie, vegetables, tempura, and a whole bunch of food in the table at our yearly Noche Buena held at our relative’s house yesterday. It was nice to be back in the place where you can really say that Christmas is so vibrant, lively, and exciting.
